Lael and Laura Luxford

Nuba Mountains, Sudan

Lael and Laura live in the Nuba Mountains seeking to shine for Christ as they care for the suffering. They serve alongside a national team in Nuba. Their aim is to give Sudanese ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:26) and to care for the least of these (Matthew 25:40). They do this through 3 main ministries:

1. Caring for the disabled. They run 2 all-day programs each month for disabled people, caring for 50 people each day. They pick them up, feed them 2 meals, care for all their health and hygiene needs, play fun activities and share the good news of Jesus with them. They are then given a gift to take home each month of soap, food and other helpful items such as mosquito nets, cooking pots, clothes or shoes.

2. Providing health care. The clinic that treats approximately 600 patients each month from 40 different villages. They also provide antenatal care to an average of 125 women each month. Caring for the sick gives opportunity to show God’s love to so many in such a tangible way.

3. Feeding the hungry. Lael and Laura employ local people who are in need to cultivate crops (sorghum, groundnuts, sesame seeds and black eyed beans) on their land. This food is then used for our programs and to distribute to the hungry
